We're looking forward to sharing this experience with you. The information below will help you arrive prepared so you can relax and enjoy your time with the horses.

What to Wear

Most experiences take place outdoors.

Please wear:

  • Closed-toed shoes or hiking shoes/boots

  • Comfortable clothing you don't mind getting dusty

  • Layers (mountain temperatures can change quickly)

  • A hat and sunglasses if desired

  • Sunscreen during warmer months

Avoid:

  • Sandals

  • Flip-flops

  • High heels

  • Flowing scarves or loose clothing that could catch on fencing

Weather

Mountain weather changes quickly.

Sessions generally continue in:

  • Light rain

  • Wind

  • Cool temperatures

  • Warm temperatures

Please bring layers so you're comfortable throughout your visit.

Winter Weather

If the CoTrip app shows icy or snow-covered roads between Colorado Springs and Mustang Wisdom on the day of your session, you may:

  • Reschedule at no additional charge, or

  • Cancel for a refund less any non-refundable credit card processing fees.

What to Bring

Suggested items include:

  • Water bottle

  • Sunscreen

  • Hat

  • Light jacket or fleece

  • Camera (photos are welcome at appropriate times)

Alcohol & Drugs

For everyone's safety:

Please do not consume alcohol or any mind-altering substance before or during your session.

Anyone who appears impaired may be asked to leave without a refund.

Smoking & Vaping

Smoking and vaping are prohibited anywhere on the property except inside your private vehicle.

Age Requirements

Participants must be:

  • 18 years of age or older, or

  • Accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Animals

Please leave pets at home.

Our horses, goats, and livestock guardian dogs already have important jobs on the ranch.

Last Chance for Gas & Groceries

Last Stops Before Arriving

  • From Colorado Springs: Woodland Park is the closest convenient location for groceries, restaurants, and gas (about 45 minutes away).

  • From Cañon City: Cañon City is your last full-service stop (about 50 minutes away).

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need horse experience?

No. Everything is done from the ground. No riding is involved.

Will I ride a horse?

No. All Mustang Wisdom experiences are conducted on the ground.

What if it rains?

Most sessions continue in light rain or changing weather. Severe weather may require rescheduling.

Can children participate?

Some experiences welcome minors accompanied by a parent or guardian. Others are designed exclusively for adults. Please refer to the individual experience description.

Can I bring my dog?

No. For the safety of all animals and guests, outside pets are not permitted.

Is there a restroom?

Yes.

Can I take photos?

Yes, provided it does not interfere with the experience or the safety of the horses.

Should I tip?

Gratuities are never expected but are always appreciated.

Can I buy merchandise or gift certificates?

Yes. Gift certificates and select merchandise are available.
